About Kim Goeltom, MA, NBC-HWC, CDP

Hello and Welcome!

 Meet Kim Goeltom

National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach | Essential Feng Shui Practitioner | Certified Dementia Practitioner

 Helping You Create a Life—and a Home—

That Supports Lasting Well-Being

Welcome—I'm so glad you're here.

For much of my career, I've been fascinated by one question:

What truly helps us live well—not just today, but for the years ahead?

Over time, I've learned that well-being is rarely created by changing just one thing.

It's shaped by how we think, how we move, how we nourish ourselves, how we manage stress, the habits and rhythms we create, the people we're connected to, and the environments we spend our lives in.

Mind. Body. Home

Each influences the others.

That understanding has become the heart of

 Creating Legacy Wellness.

Today, I bring together evidence-informed health and wellness coaching, brain-healthy lifestyle strategies, and the timeless principles of Feng Shui to help people create the conditions that support greater health, resilience, clarity, and well-being throughout life.

Because I don't believe wellness is something we should constantly have to chase.

I believe we can intentionally build it into the way we live.

My Journey

My journey into wellness began more than 25 years ago during a season of caregiving.

While helping care for my father-in-law, I began thinking differently about what it really means to support someone's well-being—and how deeply our health can affect not only the individual, but everyone who loves and cares for them.

It was during that chapter of my life that I was introduced to Feng Shui.

I became fascinated by the idea that our surroundings could influence how we feel, how we function, and how supported we feel within our everyday lives.

What began as a personal curiosity opened the door to a much larger exploration of wellness.

Over the years, that path expanded into health and wellness coaching, behavior change, workplace wellness, nutrition, stress and resilience, healthy aging, and the many everyday factors that influence how well we live.

My understanding of wellness also became increasingly personal.

Like many women, I spent years being the helper.

The achiever.

The person others depended on.

I pushed through exhaustion, sometimes ignored my body's signals, and often believed that doing more was the answer.

Through my own experiences—and through years of supporting others—I came to understand that lasting well-being isn't created through willpower alone.

It's shaped by how we think.

How we move.

How we nourish ourselves.

How we rest and recover.

How we manage stress.

How connected and purposeful we feel.

And by the environments in which we live our lives.

More than two decades after that first caregiving experience, I can see how each chapter has shaped the work I do today.

Caregiving taught me the importance of supporting the whole person.

Feng Shui taught me to look at the environment as part of well-being.

Health and wellness coaching taught me the science and art of sustainable behavior change.

And my continued work with individuals and families has deepened my interest in how the choices we make throughout our lives can support our health, resilience, and brain health as we age.

Today, those experiences come together in the philosophy behind Creating Legacy Wellness:

True well-being isn't created by focusing on one part of our lives. It's cultivated through the relationship between our mind, body, daily choices, and the environments that surround us.

A Deeper Understanding of How We Live—and Age

My understanding of well-being has also been deeply shaped by walking alongside people through caregiving, aging, dementia, chronic stress, health challenges, and major life transitions.

I've had the privilege of supporting both clients and people I love through some of life's most vulnerable seasons.

Those experiences changed the way I think about health.

They made me increasingly curious not only about how we feel today, but about how the choices we make throughout our lives can support our bodies and brains as we age.

Movement matters.

Sleep matters.

Nourishment matters.

Connection matters.

Stress regulation matters.

Purpose matters.

And the environments in which all of those things happen matter, too.

I've also witnessed firsthand how our surroundings can either create additional stress or become a source of stability, dignity, connection, and peace.

Those experiences strengthened a belief that continues to guide my work:

The way we live today helps shape the way we experience tomorrow.

My Approach

As a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Essential Feng Shui Practitioner, and Certified Dementia Practitioner, I bring together evidence-informed wellness principles and timeless wisdom to support the whole person.

I think about well-being through three interconnected areas:

MIND
Supporting brain health, resilience, clarity, stress regulation, purpose, and emotional well-being.

BODY
Creating sustainable habits around movement, nourishment, sleep, strength, energy, and healthy aging.

HOME
Creating environments that support rest, movement, connection, healthy routines, peace, and the life you're intentionally building.

I don't believe lasting change comes from adding another impossible list of things you "should" be doing.

And I don't believe wellness requires perfection.

I believe it begins with awareness.

It grows through intention.

And it becomes more sustainable when the way we live begins supporting the way we want to feel.

Sometimes that means creating a bedroom that supports better rest.

Sometimes it's finding realistic ways to move more or nourish yourself differently.

Sometimes it's understanding what's draining your energy.

Sometimes it's creating a home that better supports caregiving, a life transition, or a new chapter.

And sometimes it's simply recognizing that something that once worked for you no longer does.

Whatever brings us together, the question underneath my work remains the same:

What would help you feel more supported in the life you're living—and the life you're creating?

Beyond the Work

When I'm not working, you'll usually find me outdoors.

I love hiking, kayaking, gardening, cooking nourishing meals, reading, and spending time in nature.

One of my favorite places to recharge is Shenandoah National Park, where I enjoy walking among the trees, reflecting, praying, moving my body, and simply being present.

Nature continually reminds me that well-being isn't something we force.

It's something we cultivate.

At home, my husband of more than 28 years and I enjoy creating a life that leaves room for the things that matter—health, connection, nature, laughter, meaningful work, and the everyday moments that can be so easy to overlook.

And you'll often find our rescue dog, Rocket, nearby, reminding us to slow down, stay present, get outside, and enjoy what's right in front of us.

Those everyday experiences continue to shape both my personal life and the work I share with others.

Kim's Professional Bio

 Kim Goeltom, M.A., NBC-HWC, CDP

Kim Goeltom is the founder of Creating Legacy Wellness, where she helps people create lives—and homes—that support lasting well-being.

A National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Essential Feng Shui Practitioner, and Certified Dementia Practitioner, Kim brings together evidence-informed wellness practices, behavior change, healthy lifestyle strategies, and the timeless principles of Feng Shui to explore the many factors that influence how well we live, think, move, and age.

Her interest in wellness began more than 25 years ago during a season of family caregiving—an experience that shaped her understanding of how health affects not only individuals, but the people, routines, relationships, and environments surrounding them. Since then, her work has expanded across health and wellness coaching, workplace wellness, stress and resilience, caregiving, dementia education, healthy aging, and supportive environments.

Kim's approach is grounded in the belief that lasting well-being isn't created by focusing on one part of our lives. How we think, move, nourish ourselves, sleep, manage stress, connect with others, and interact with our environments all matter. Increasingly, her work also explores how these everyday lifestyle factors can support brain health and well-being throughout the aging process.

With more than 20 years of executive leadership experience working alongside Human Resources leaders, Talent Development teams, and CEOs, Kim also understands the demands of high-performance environments and the importance of creating realistic, sustainable approaches to health and resilience.

Through presentations, workshops, coaching, and Feng Shui consultations, Kim translates complex wellness concepts into practical, meaningful actions people can apply in their everyday lives.

Whether she is speaking about brain health and healthy aging, helping caregivers protect their own well-being, exploring the relationship between stress and environment, or helping someone create a more restorative home, her goal remains the same:

To help people create the conditions that make living well a little easier.

Kim holds a Master of Arts in Health & Wellness Coaching from the Maryland University of Integrative Health and continues to explore the intersection of behavior change, brain health, environmental psychology, Feng Shui, and integrative wellness.

Her philosophy is simple:

Well-being is shaped by how we think, how we move, how we live—and the environments that surround us.
